It's now the autumn season and almost time for deer camp for many. Hunting a moving animal requires different features than is needed for stationary targets. In this article we are going to share Monstrum's Top Hunting scopes and which type of game they are most commonly used for.

Built-in Sights

We don't carry iron sights but there's a good chance your rifle or shotgun came with them. Most hunters learned this way and will swear you will never need anything more. Iron sights are simple to use, always accurate with practice, and is the only way to hunt certain types of game.

Suitable for: All game, especially wingshooting game birds like Ducks and Geese

R01C Black Red/Green Dot Sight

Red Dots

A very popular and common red dot design is the reflex models such as our R01C Red/Green Dot Sight. Built for fast and accurate target acquisition makes it suitable for moving animals, while keeping your eyes on the surrounding environment. Our R01C red dot features multiple brightness settings and illumination in red or green for any lighting situation. Works great on shotguns and rifles and easy to zero. Lightweight, durable and inexpensive; red dots are a great step up from iron sights and just as precise.

S330P 3x30 Prism Scope with Flip-up Lens Caps

Prism Scopes

Prism Scopes are jokingly referred to as a "Poor Man's ACOG" because of their lower price and useful features. Our best selling scope for the last few years is the S330P 3x30 Prism Scope because of it's flexibility when in the field. Fixed 3x magnification makes it easier to target more skittish game. Prism optical systems give the user crystal clear optics and very comfortable eye relief compared to traditional scopes. Its a great scope when you need to pick up your weapon and sight quickly. Features an illuminated reticle like red dots, but unlike those this prism scope has an etched reticle that can be viewed when turned off.

Suitable for: Turkeys, Boars, Coyotes, Rabbits & Deer

6-24x50 FFP-G3 Scope

FFP Scopes

For the longest time First Focal Plane (FFP) Scopes used to be out of the budget for most hunters. Monstrum changed all that when a few years ago we launched our G1 line. Now we have just released our new G3 FFP Scopes with lots of upgrades and the same features. In FFP scopes, the reticle is etched onto the first focal plane as the name suggests. Instead of remaining the same size, the reticle will grow or shrink depending on the magnification, for faster range estimation and holdover correction. The G3 6-24x50 FFP Scope also features an Adjustable Objective (AO) lens which allows for a sharper target image, elimination of parallax, and range estimation; three useful features when aiming for a deer far away.

Suitable for: Rabbits, Coyotes, & Deer
