The Monstrum Tactical S41244-AO is a full-featured scope suitable for hunting, target shooting, or tactical use. The scope comes equipped with:
- Adjustable 4-12 times magnification
- An adjustable objective lens or AO - that allows for sharper focus of the target image, elimination of parallax, and range estimation
- Aircraft grade 6061 aluminum construction, for lightweight and durable performance
- An integrated throw lever for smooth and controlled adjustment of the magnification dial
- A sealed, nitrogen charged scope tube for resistance to fog and water The S41244-AO weighs 1 lb 6 ounces.
- It has a 1 inch diameter tube and requires a mount with 1 inch diameter scope rings. The scope is 16 inches in total length.
- Depending on your selection, a set of scope picatinny/weaver scope rings, or lightweight MH253 scope mount will be included.
SFP versus FFP Scopes
In SFP (Second Focal Plane) scopes, the size of the reticle is fixed regardless of magnification. In FFP (First Focal Plane) scopes, the size of the reticle grows or shrinks in relation to magnification adjustment. Range and distance information from the reticle remain constant in an FFP scope regardless of magnification - so a 1 MOA hashmark is equal to 1 MOA at all magnification levels. Tasks such as range estimation, hold over correction, and bullet drop adjustment can therefore be performed much more easily at all magnification levels using an FFP scope.
