The Monstrum Tactical G2 FFPS1624-R is a precision tactical scope with a First Focal Plane reticle. Featuring a magnification range of 1-6x, this scope is suitable for a variety of close to mid range applications. From close quarter tactical situations, practice at the shooting range, or even hunting at distances of 400 yards or greater. Functionally designed first focal plane rangefinder reticle for faster range estimation and holdover correction. The etched black reticle is always visible without illumination or can be lit red or green for better reticle visibility at night or low light environments. The scope has 1/2 MOA/click windage & elevation adjustments, zero reset, and turret locks to prevent slippage.

What is an FFP Rifle Scope?
FFP stands for First Focal Plane.  The term refers to the position of the scope reticle in relation to the magnification lens.  In FFP scopes, the reticle is located to the front of the magnification lens - the first focal plane.  The key consequence of this is that the size of the reticle grows or shrinks in relation to magnification adjustment.
SFP versus FFP Scopes
In SFP (Second Focal Plane) scopes, the size of the reticle is fixed regardless of magnification.  In FFP (First Focal Plane) scopes, the size of the reticle grows or shrinks in relation to magnification adjustment.  Range and distance information from the reticle remain constant in an FFP scope regardless of magnification - so a 1 MOA hashmark is equal to 1 MOA at all magnification levels.  Tasks such as range estimation, hold over correction, and bullet drop adjustment can therefore be performed much more easily at all magnification levels using an FFP scope.
